Is there a difference between 'envious' and 'jealous'?

I don't know actually. But I would put my money on one being a latin root and one a greek root.
Envious would be latin I reckon
envy- being envious of something you dont have (neighbor has new car)
jealous- being afraid you will lose what you have (GF)
i think
