It's honestly in both our best interests but why would they bend and allow us to have an easy exit when it will cause uproar from within the union, especially amongst other potential leavers.

We voted for it and we're going to get shafted.

Because Germans are arrogant at heart. After centuries of being second stringers they became halfway relevant and suddenly declared themselves the master race for it, even though "inferior races" had been doing just that for centuries.

>>73944320
Not so much BTFO as simply common sense. There's Britain, and there's a large trade block. Which is America going to favor? This is why the ideal Brexit included remaining part of the free trade zone, and this is exactly what's so odious about the EU: there's ONE good part (the trade area) and if you want to join it, Germany forces all this retarded bullshit on you with it.

>>73944332
>but why would they bend and allow us to have an easy exit when it will cause uproar from within the union
Recently the leaders of the Netherlands, Denmark and Ireland met in the Hague in a (most likely futile) attempt to unite against Germany's desire to punish Britain, because these three countries are dependent on Britain for a lot of their trade (and other things like the customs union between Britain and Ireland). Not that it'll make a difference, but the desire to 'punish' Britain isn't universal.

It's only common sense that Trump would strike a deal with the EU before the UK since the UK can't actually make a trade deal before they have left the EU and can set their own trade policies again which will take at least two years.

>>73944506
>There's Britain, and there's a large trade block. Which is America going to favor?

Both, we'll play the sneaky Jews on this one.
>>
>>73944921
Yeah get back to me when all 27 members agree a trade deal with the US of all countries. A UK-US trade deal will be the more likely to happen sooner.

Pretty big BTFO because they have promised the opposite just a few weeks ago.
>>
>>73944506
>There's Britain, and there's a large trade block.

And how long have the US had to strike a trade deal with the EU? It'll take literally years more to reach any deal, if they even do so at all.

So wait a minute, Trump got elected on a promise to end these horrible big trade deals and now he wants to make a new one with the EU when he just tore up TTIP?
Does he even know what he's doing?

To be fair that was never in question, don't pretend like this is news. It's the same with Norway and Switzerland and pretty much everyone else: goods permitted into the EU need to conform to EU standards and competition law. This is why the Commission could fine American Microsoft in the first place.

>Using French marks a shift away from standard practice among multinational teams in Brussels, where French lost its status to English as the EU's main working language after northern and eastern states joined in the past two decades. Even officials from the EU's founding powers France and Germany now communicate with each other mainly in English.
