Most of the South East Asian ethnic groups like Vietnamese are similar to South Chinese. North Chinese are similar to Mongols and Koreans. You could view China as a combination of these 2 distinct populations. There are also Turkic people in the west, but they aren't as mixed into the main Chinese genepool
