I was in a town near Dortmund around 2 years ago.
I spent almost a month there during summer.
The wearther was nice and sunny, streets, housing blocks, urban areas all looked kind of organized and clean.
Its really liberal, man.
Smoked a bunch of weed and fucked a bitch, it was cash.
I guess it does depend on your individual position in german society, but from what I have experienced from a foreigner's perspective was nice, neat and comfy.
The only real problem that u listed is the terrorism.
