Yeah they are. They're called Stormchasers. It's like rock climbing without a safety rope or skydiving. They do it as thrillseeking adventure, just to say they did it.

I actually had personal experience with a microburst when I was on vacation in Massachusetts by a massive lake. It's like a mini-localized-hurricane. It swept the water up from the lake (I'll never forget how fucking eerie it looked) and it poured like a monsoon with rain traveling practically horizontally and it felt like being shot by little metal balls. Blew over a fuckload of trees and a lot of them fell on people's cars.

Shit was fucking lit. That a test of courage weathering that for a solid two hours after our tent blew away I'll tell you that much.
