Read fast, slow, in various accents, really fuck those books through the positions. Take notes, read them...

Just get an e-reader, throw a lot of books onto them in a way you can still find them in 1000 years, like attaching tags to the books you upload... just play with the ereder and content.

Meet with others of your ethnic group and by extension afghanis in general, pool a few ressources to establish a community center somewhere.
Celebrate holydays together.
Meet each other when someone marrys.
Maybe make a website or publication in your languages, like a little newspaper about afghans in canada in afghan language.
Reflect on the part of your past and culture that Islam made a taboo, such as music, hindu/bhuddhist influences and whatnot.
Maybe try to refit that for modernity, there is arab trap for example, afghan culture can be remodeled for modernity to make it cool for your children.
