Only in terms starting the industrial revolution and creating the modern era but living there would be awful. 1950s USA was aesthetic as fuck which great living standards for regular people.

I'd say it was the latest high point, but it was very brief and overshadowed by the few hundred years of colonialism and cultural domination that came before it.
