Bees may be an example, indeed, we also have another "neutral" verb that may be applied to humans and sometimes to animals, eg. bees - "ginąć", plus there is anoder verb only for animals - "padać", so Grzegorz "zmarł/zginął", but a cow "zdechła/padła"

In Dutch we have eten and vreten, but both are used for humans and animals. Eten is normal and vreten is.. very informal.

Although the mouth of an animal is usually called a bek (sounds like beak).
And an animal has no benen (legs) but poten (paws).

Except a horse. A horse has no poten (paws) but he has benen (legs).
A horse has no kop (head) but a hoofd (head).
And a horse has no bek (beak) but a mond (mouth).
Because a horse is a noble animal.

As a result, saying "ferme ta gueule" (shut your 'gueule') or even just "ta gueule" (your 'gueule') is a very common way of saying "shut the fuck up".

The word order is often the same, although German is a bit more liberal with it. So you can usually translate things word for word.
And if you know the biggest differences between the two languages you can just put up a German accent and wing it.

But German and Dutch have many false friends.
Schade for example means "what a shame" in German, but "damage" in Dutch.
Wie means how in German, but who in Dutch.
The words for "lake" and "sea" are reversed in Dutch and German.
And so on.
