in poor countries it's more economically viable to have more kids because once they're of working age (which is like 13) they can provide for the family and make the family not poor maybe

the institutions that make raising kids in developed countries expensive (school, etc) are non-issues in poor countries because all you need to do is keep them relatively well-fed

this happened with east asia and then birthrates fell after they got richer. will probably happen with africa assuming low iq doesn't get in the way

It is happening though. You have to see the fertility rates drop in many nations developing over there. Even then a big key part of planned parenting is spacing out births so that your kids have manageable age gap between them.
