>visit family in Canada
>whenever we were out, my cousin just took his wallet out and tapped it on the pay system to instantly pay for shit

What the fuck? He lives out in some suburban shithole and all the stores have this. He does the same thing when he wants to take the bus. And when we went to the city for a day trip, I saw a couple shops that accepted bitcoin. Do you Eurofags have this, too?

Why the fuck can't we have nice things here?
>>
>>73215039
Kek I only realized my creditcard had this feature yesterday

I've used it twice since. I like it. It's a good feature.
>>
>I saw a couple shops that accepted bitcoin.

I haven't seen this, but I know we have them and also some bitcoin ATMs. Wireless credit card payments are quite common. I use it all the time.
>>
>>73215039
yes we have had these for long time.
>>
>>73215039
Those things are available here, in some shops, and slowly more and more a getting a hand on it. We already pay that way for public transport though.
>>
every shop, even small restaurants

only place I've discovered that doesn't accept them was an art shop

it's just easy and you set the tap limit at something like 25 euros if anyone ever robs you
>>
>>73215039
I've been using Paypass/Paywave for a couple of years now, with my credit-debit card. That said, Australia has had these chip cards and tap to pay system with EFTPOS for apparently close to a decade or something, I just didn't update my bank cards for ages due to wallet being stolen and issued with a non-chip "temporary" card which for some reason had like a five year expiry date on it.
They're handy. I've only had to enter the pin code to use my card with EFTPOS transactions like ten times in the past four or so years. Still need it for ATMs, but yeah.
>>
>>73215039
We have this on our bank passes, not just credit cards, and it's pretty much everywhere.
>>
>>73215039

its been pretty much everywhere here for a while now. I never have cash on me anymore. I tried to get some out when I was out drinking the other night and realized I had no idea what my pin number is because its been so fucking long since I needed it.
Turned out all the clubs had paywave anyway
>>

I seriously hope you don't do this.
>>

most everyone here used debit cards, credit cards maaybe for big purchases idk

>>73216565
Debit-credit cards are the standard for banks now, which have this chip technology. They allow you to access your debit account or use an associated credit account if you have one with the card.
A nation with a banking system that managed to fuck up the international economy and lose billions of dollars, which still doesn't use credit-debit cards. Not all that surprising, really.
>>
>>73216630
Credit cards are Jewish and bad though.

When I moved to this asshat country I was very upset none of the stores in my area had this and I was mad for about two weeks after that.

Can you elaborate? What is wrong with credit cards if you're not a retard who goes on spending sprees because he has no self control?

OP specifically mentioned credit cards you bogan cunts.

>>
>>73216798
OP's post doesn't contain the words 'credit' or 'card'.
>>
>>73216798
No he didn't. In fact that image used was that of a generic card with a chip for paypass.
That card is what all contemporary debit-credit cards look like.

Who gives a fuck? I'll use credit if I need to buy something I can't presently afford put can in the future. I'm not a subhuman that needs to use it for every single purchase they make.
>>
>>73217351
How else do you plan on taking out loans?

Do creditors in Australia just say "Oy m8 u a bloody gud cunt lad aye here's money senpai not even gunna assess your credit risk crikey mate"?
>>

holy shit Australia really is Mad Max. do they just hand out loans to anyone?

Are you mentally retarded?

It builds your credit history and gives you free money. There's literally no reason not to use a credit card besides ((((((((le jews))))))) . What does being subhuman have to do with this? You're clearly the subhuman and inferior for being unable to understand basic ideas. Go back to /pol/.
>>
>>73217546

if it's an independent store I'll use debit just so the little guy doesn't get 97% of the sale

>>
>>73217546
>"hundreds of dollars in rewards"
I'll take your word for it

>"more secure"
how are credit cards more secure than debit cards?
>>
>>73217433
>>73217484
Banks assess income, job security, bank account savings and assets more heavily than credit score from using a credit card.
For an anecdote, if it means anything, my aunt was reviewed and cleared for a $250K loan without ever using a credit card in her life. Her income security, etc. was more than enough for the bank to give her the loan.

>>73217546
>Did you miss the "hundreds of dollars in rewards" and "more secure" bits?
Don't be naive. In order to get those "rewards" you have to spend money you wouldn't have otherwise in order to get them. They're glorified shopping stamps where if you spend $1000 worth on groceries you get a $50 voucher.
>>
>>73217546
>>73217252
>>73216630
why do you keep bringing up jews when people disagree with you?
>>
Not that common here but it's slowly starting to be more widespread.
Apple Pay or something like that is basically nowhere to be found but some stores accept contactless visa, master, germany's own thing called girogo and girocard contactless.

it's nice, saves time but because it's so rare most of the time the retarded cashiers are confused when they're not getting the receipt they usually get for card payments so the time saving aspect is questionable as of now.
>>
>>73215039
I haven't used it yet, but my new card does cover contactless payment. Pretty cool, was my first reaction.
>>
>>73217671
In case it wasn't clear, I was referring to how credit scores, etc. are handled in Australia, not anywhere else.
>>
>>73215039
polan has it in pretty much every store, even those little local ones, what is wrong with you hamburgerica?
>>
>>73217643
You get your money back much quicker with credit cards in cases of fraud because it's the bank's money instead of yours.

>>73217671
>>Did you miss the "hundreds of dollars in rewards" and "more secure" bits?
>Don't be naive. In order to get those "rewards" you have to spend money you wouldn't have otherwise in order to get them

No you fucking retard

If you get 2% cashback and spend $2 000 a month you get $500 a year back. FO R F R E E. Spend the same amount and get free money.

WHY not? It's not inconvenient.

>>73217703
Because he wrote (((credit cards))) and then said they were Jewish and bad.

>Disagree with you

There's nothing to disagree about. It's not a matter of opinion. I'm right and you're wrong and it's clear why the American left after I asked him to elaborate. There's no argument. There is no reason not to use a credit card in North America.
>>
>>73217643
I get 1% cash back, and 2% airline points
if I spend 20k on my cc, I get $200 and a free round trip flight to canada/continental america

>FO R F R E E
*cough*
>If you get 2% cashback and spend $2 000 a month you get $500 a year back.
Ergo you are pressured to spend more than you otherwise would. That's how credit cards generate massive amounts of profit. You are being "rewarded" with less money than you would have normally saved.
There is no such thing as free money, anon.
>>
>>73217861
>I get 1% cash back, and 2% airline points
That's nice, but you're more than likely paying an access fees for using a credit card which is more than the 1% cash back. Banks exist to profit off your money, not give it away.
>>
>>73217996
I don't know about your people but we don't choose options not suited for us. Well, it's not like we could afford spending more than $500 a month anyways *sadpolan*
>>
>>73217996
Yeah, people who are retards and get into credit card debt are paying for my rewards.

I'm not a retard though. I'm 22 and I've used a credit card for four years. I've never paid a cent interest, have a higher networth than anyone I know and am enjoying my rewards.

For me it is indeed free money.
>>
>>73215841
I hate luddites so fucking much
>>
>>73218043
not the guy you are talking to but 1% cash back is pretty standard on no annual fee cards.

>>73217996
>Ergo you are pressured to spend more than you otherwise would. That's how credit cards generate massive amounts of profit. You are being "rewarded" with less money than you would have normally saved.

you are dumb. you don't have to spend that much money, it's just that if you spend X amount of dollars a month normally but use cash, you would've earned *some* money back if you switched all those purchases to credit. you get something better then nothing with credit vs cash.
>>
>>73218043
I don't have to pay a fee, but I do need to keep 5k in my account

keeping a rainy day fund like that is ok, even if I'm not making anything off of it
>>
>>73218107
>but we don't choose options not suited for us.
Yes you do. Banks rely on this.

>>73218145
>Yeah, people who are retards
That's almost everyone, considering how much banks make of credit cards.
You're not smarter than the system. There is a reason why you are earning what you are earning and why banks are dealing in billions of dollars in and out a day.

>For me it is indeed free money.
No it's not. You are spending more than you would otherwise and you're aren't even aware of it. You're really no different than people who think they can beat the house at a casino, only the transactions are over a longer period so you don't get to really feel the impact. That's why it works so well.
>>
>>73218176
Luddites were people who sabotaged industrialization because it threatened their professions, not people who think that there should be a limit on how much their lives should be digitized.
>>
>>73218326
>I don't have to pay a fee
You pay a fee in the form of extra charges for using credit, anon.
>even if I'm not making anything off of it
You could be making money of that 5k if it wasn't in a credit account.
>>
>>73218328
>>Yeah, people who are retards
>That's almost everyone, considering how much banks make of credit cards.

Not me.
>You're not smarter than the system. There is a reason why you are earning what you are earning and why banks are dealing in billions of dollars in and out a day.

Most people are retards what is there to say?

The average person is a fat flabby piece of shit too.
>>For me it is indeed free money.
>No it's not. You are spending more than you would otherwise and you're aren't even aware of it.

I keep a monthly budget. I am aware of all my expenses and income. Fuck off retard.
>You're really no different than people who think they can beat the house at a casino, only the transactions are over a longer period so you don't get to really feel the impact. That's why it works so well.

... what?

The casino is a game of chance with odds in the house's favor. Using a creditcard is nothing like a game of chance. I have a spreadsheet of all my expenses. I am not wasting money. I have $65 000 at 22 years of age.

>>73218419
>>I don't have to pay a fee
>You pay a fee in the form of extra charges for using credit, anon.

You don't get charged an extra fee for using a creditcard by merchants.

If you mean that it's reflected in prices then you'd be paying it anyway. It's not like you get a discount for using cash.

Just stop you moron
>>
>>73218328
>Yes you do. Banks rely on this.
We don't use too many credit cards tho. We can't really afford it. And people here aren't very trusting when it comes to loans since many of 30-40 y.o. polans got theirs in CHF but then exchange rate went up and many of people almost went bankrupt.
