Not true. My parents had family in other villages, and in Romania too. Some of them were extremely poor. The difference was that everyone was like that, and the state provided you some minimal yet not enough supplies. There was hunger sometimes. Yet, they were irrelevant in number and quantity. Today's thing is bipolar, extremed to the max.
