Cobra says the chim's negative technology still exists there which is keeping Gaia partially imprisoned. There exists there some exotic material which that beast is utilizing for its purposes. Soon the Alliance shall clear out the parasites once and for all.

It's mostly a shitty place, but I still do miss it from time to time. Left half (Nassau county) is full of Ashkenazi Reformed Jews and Jewish American Princesses (JAPs); think basic white girl but with more Northface jackets, caramel frappucinos, Ugg boots, and talk about synagogue or Hillel. Plenty of Amerifat people as well, and some white trash. However, further to the left is Queens (northeast of Manhattan), essentially an immigrant town full of mostly Chinese and Korean, and they have some amazing food you'd otherwise have to go abroad for there. (Bonus: Hicksville, which is minutes away from where I grew up, is basically all Indian/Paki, and the entire town has the best Northern and Southern Indian food of everywhere else in the US I've been to.)
The right half of the island (Suffolk county) is more rural and there's plenty of farmer's markets if you go far enough. Not as predominantly Jewish, people are a bit nicer too. Amazing produce and pies. Go further and you'll come across the Hamptons on the northern fork, which is full of summer houses and absurdly rich people.
Not much when it comes to history, suburban Long Island has only really been around since the end of WW2 (shitty cheap houses built en masse in a day or two each for veterans coming back).

Oh yeah, almost forgot. The accent is very much a thing, especially in poorer households. It's basically a Brooklyn accent but less Italian.
New York pizza is best pizza (seriously, Michigan here can't come close) but JAPs like to fold their slices for whatever goddamned reason.
