New Mexico here. Went to jail a couple of times when I was younger in a small town. Not so bad. I wasn't thee long enough to be bored and get into shit. Live in bigger town now. Probably different story. Jail in Albuquerque is supposed to be a lot worse, and prison is a different animal, altogether

this time i lit a box on fire and the cops thought i was a pyromaniac so they took me in

it was pretty shity, they were rude and i was just a teen with a box on fire

my dad came in and they told him that if i didn't behave i would get put on jail

good thing is that he actually thought the situation was hilarious but he did told me off a little for setting a box on fire

This, you dont want to get in a mexican prisoner, is like a little neighborhood but is runned by prisoner, if you are just a commoner that get there for stealing a kilo of tortillas you gonna have a bad time, you need to pay protection every day or get beaten. You can get involved with the cartel but if shit goes down against a rival cartel (what happens very often) you gonna be the first getting killed.
