Not in North America no, but places like Japan and Britain, with high populations, very little land, and lots of old people. House are ridiculously expensive. I'd pay 3x what you do for a house less than half the size and you make more than i do would anyway. If it's too hard to get a house as a young person, then young people don't want kids. Just give tax credits for marriage/birth on higher income families. Not to toot my own horn but I know their economy pretty well. A lot of the stoppage regarding marriage and kids in Japan has to do with how it's not economically possible; let alone accessible.
