I have taught English to a shitload of different ethnicities and none of them could tell the difference between English accent and American accent.

Its' really only noticeable when you're a native speaker or very close to native level

Japanese seem to find it easier to pronounce Brit English (because they can't quite do the hard 'r' in american english). But they all choose to learn American English for whatever reason.
