one of my Muslim friends got a divorce. I didn't ask why, and he didn't tell.
really surprised me, since he's super conservative. but I tried to Google "reasons for divorce in Islam" and I couldn't find any real restrictions, such as in Christianity (adultery only).
are there no restrictions, or am I just bad at Googling?

Literally the only requirement is to say "talaq" thrice consecutively. Actually, you don't even have to vocalize it.
