Yes, but we just call it contactless payment, but it has different names based on the credit card (e.g. Paywave, Paypass, etc.).

It's fairly common now with credit/debit cards, but mobile contactless payments are rarely used and I personally haven't seen anyone use it before.

Paypass and Payway, I think. I use it all the time when using eftpos, paying with a debit-credit card. Doesn't have a credit account but allows a normal savings account to buy things online, etc. where your credit card details would normally go. It's highly practical.
