>>72650592
No not really retard. It should be a matter of personal decision. It's simply a risk I take.

The biggest bicycle users (Netherlands and Denmark) the vast majority of bicyclists in those countries don't wear helmets.

>>72650622
Has nothing to do with negative liberties retard. The police don't arrest you for posting mean comments offending Muslims and Leftists on Twitter.

Almost all police shootings are by niggers and spics chimping out and trying to commit violent crime against the officers, or whites suiciding by cop. The police don't give a fuck if you simply follow their instructions and don't try to be an ebin badass.

>>
>>72650891
Nice argument, piss-gulping fuck.

>>72650903
There's a reason why the vast majority of countries (and the vast majority of developed countries) don't have mandatory helmet laws.
>>
>>72650839
>>72650933
In addition

>It's also Dutch policy not to encourage helmets because overall it is counterproductive; if you could somehow preserve the bicycle use we see today AND also wear helmets, yes, a few deaths would be avoided. But in practice you can't promote helmets without discouraging cycling – where helmets have been made mandatory, cycling levels drop. That has a public health cost -- lack of exercise is far more dangerous than biking without a helmet. The exact value of "far more dangerous" depends on the local risk of cycling – in England the estimate is that per cyclist the risk:reward ratio is about 1:10; here in the US (with our riskier roads) it is about 1:5, but in the Netherlands it is 1:25. That is, for each year of life lost to bicycle crashes in the Netherlands, 25 years are gained from better health because of the exercise.

This why helmet laws are even shit in terms of saving lives. By mandating helmets, less people bike as a result and because cycling is such a good source of exercise, you end up having a lower life expectancy from that lack of exercise had more people biked.

Make like a leaf and get blown the fuck out.

>small towns have APCs

Nigger, I don't care. My small city has APCs too, but has never used them. Why? Because I don't live around fucking niggers and spics who chimp out and cause crime. My heavily white area is very safe and law abiding. Violent crime is extremely low. It has no impact on my freedom.

Outside of California and New York, the US has some of the most negative liberties of any developed country. Alaska alone is probably one of the freest places on Earth.
>>
>>72651027
>neither one of those countries are free

I never said North Korea is free retarded cunt, Somalia has many areas with no warlord rule by the way. It was meant to illustrate a point. I'd rather live in an AnCap society than a heavily authoritarian one. Total freedom > total tyranny (but you're safe)

>just because it isn't legal to wear a helmet doesn't mean you shouldn't wear one

No. I don't wear one because cycling is already very safe compared to other means of transportation. I don't want to strap shit on my head every time I get on my bike. I enjoy having the freedom to make that choice.

Ask yourself why the vast majority of Canadian bicyclists don't wear helmets. Because it's unnecessary. Mandatory helmet laws are shit.
>>
>>72651147
>why the vast majority of Canadian bicyclists don't wear helmets
> Because it's unnecessary
No, it's because they're poor and stupid.
Cycling is a shit method of travel in Canada.
It takes way too long and is a huge bitch 6-9 months of the year.
I saw a guy on a bike last night. Still a bit of snow here. Guy was black and not wearing a helmet with no lights at 10PM.
When people who aren't homeless or poor ride bikes, guess what, helmets everywhere.

This pic was taken in the downtown area where bike traffic goes slow and there's demarcated bike lanes.
In more spread out areas helmets are a lot more common.
>>
>>72651247
>no it's because they are poor and stupid

I already proved to you that helmets don't offer a major benefit when biking. In fact you'd get much more protection wearing a helmet while driving a car in combination with a seatbelt. When are you going to strap on a helmet when you drive?

You are pulling shit out of your ass and claiming that bicyclists are mainly "poor and stupid people" in Canada and thus that's why they don't wear helmets. In fact you can go to any rich area and you'd see the great majority of bicyclists not wearing a helmet as well.

So really, at this point we are deviating from the topic greatly. For the record, I never argued against helmet laws on safety (even then I proved to you how mandatory helmet laws negatively impact the number of cyclists and thus have a more deleterious effect on public health than the lives saved by mandatory helmets.)

I argued against it in terms of freedom. Cyclists should be able to make their own decisions and take their own risk. I can see the argument for mandating that young children who are still learning how to ride a bicycle required to wear a helmet. But for everyone else, they should have the freedom to decide themselves.
>>
>>72651429
>In fact you can go to any rich area and you'd see the great majority of bicyclists not wearing a helmet as well.
First off, Americans are stupid, rich and poor.
Second off, depends on the speed of the cycling

Meandering over to neighbours house at 10kmh isn't dangerous but if you're going 20-30kmh it's stupid not to.
>>
>>72651560
>hurr le dumb amerisharts xD

I fucking guarantee you that the great majority of rich Canadian areas don't wear helmets as well. I was born in Canada in the GTA in the 1980s and have a Canadian passport I can post for proofs. So tell me my faggot friend, why is it when I was visting family in Oakville last year the vast majority of cyclists weren't wearing helmets? Are you going to pull a shitty no true scotsman again?

Again, it has fundamentally to do with freedom. Cycling is far safer compared to other means of transportation. To the point where the comfort of not strapping an object to your head personally outweighs the quite small increase in safety you get to the vast majority of people.

Freedom above all. Fuck yourself.

Your police regularly enforce these laws. This is equivalent to me saying I speed 20mph over the limiy on the interstate regularly and have not gotten a ticket for the past 5 years. Therefore the law isn't enforced.

Prove it isn't with actual articles or simply fuck off because are are many news articles about cyclists gettibg fined for not wearing a helmet.
