Connecticut fag checking in. Tbh New Englang is pretty decent. There's tons of history the rest of the country doesn't have, since it's where the country was founded. My grandparents house was built in the 1770s and there are tons of places all over like that. lots of museums and cool stuff like that. The weather is gay as fuck tho. Last week we had temps ranging from 15 to 60 degrees. It's a nice place to grow up but everyone with half a brain takes off in their 20-30s, then comes back to start a family. Definite pipeline of people moving from Connecticut to Texas I've noticed

It's pretty crazy here but there aren't really many hillbillies except up north, no meth (pills and bath salts instead), and I've never checked my toilet for snakes. Alligators can be annoying sometimes they might block your path at the park but they're cool giant lizards so it's okay.

PA is pretty great. I've lived here all my life and have been all around the state.

Basically you have the two big cities: Pittsburgh and Philly. Philly is unique because it is a lot grittier than other east coast cities, but it integrates it in nicely. It looks pretty in a run-down way. It also has the highest percentage of row-homes by far of all US cities. Pittsburgh is a mix of midwest and northeast, and I'd argue that makes it a uniquely appalachian city. Both cities are underdogs in that Pittsburgh doesn't grow much in population and Philly is an underdog to NYC, and that's why a lot of people love it.

I love in pic related. Pretty beautiful with a lot of old ass revolutionary era towns scattered throughout the southeast of the state. Pretty rich area.

Middle of the state is Penn State surrounded by poor appalachian towns. These towns are poor. The amish settlements scattered throughout are fucking incredible. It's like another civilization from the past. The rural parts of the state can look fucking creepy when the fog rolls in.

The north is nice. Pretty large hills (hard to describe, not mountains but not small hills either) like the rest of the state. Some nazis around here and there.

I like my state, but I feel like I should move out to experience other states. I recommend PA highly though. I think we have some very down-to-earth people. Our image doesn't have a huge PR boost like Oregon/Washington does, but I think people generally regard us as a good state.

tl;dr: PA is the crossroads between the midwest, appalachia, and northeast. Lots of great places to be.
