Yeah, bonus question: why do you all hate Turks in 4chan? They seem to be pretty nice people, Russia and Turkey are major economy partners, we have many mixed marriages, politically we were allies before the shit with the plane and now we actively are becoming allies again. Putin and Erdogan are twin brothers in a terms of politics, they share the same attitudes towards anything.

Any country works a lot with their diaspora because
1) Majority of people in any diaspora holds the citizenship of their home country.
2) Diaspora is another tool of soft power. For example, majority of Russians voted for Trump in USA, Russians in Germany are great fans of Putin, etc.
Any country does it, our officials meet with Russian diaspora pretty often, there are Russian cultural centres, Rossotrudnichestvo etc.

Sounds like a typical Fifth Column situation. We don't want religious hardliners on Europe's doorstep. I guess it's hard to understand for a natuon that has a large Muslim minority, a history of despotism and who uses underhanded tactics like this.

1. Last time Turkey riled up Turkish people against Gulen supporters, which led to violence among Turks. And because the Netherlands thinks the referendum will turn Turkey into a dictatorship. We don't want Turks to export their problems here.
2. The Dutch elections are next week on wednesday. And considering there is a 50% chance of Wilders winning we can't really use Muslim leaders campaigning here.
3. It's against the Dutch policy to let foreign diplomats campaign here for their internal affairs. And it's even against the Turkish law to campaign here!
4. Turkey tried to pull a fast one on us. We told them they shouldn't do it. But at first the Dutch government talked about alternatives, but Turkey instantly threatened with sanctions. So those talks were cut off. Then they tried to fly here anyway, but we told the airplane to piss off. Then they pretended nobody was coming to the Netherlands in their official statement. But secretly send multiple convoys of black Turkish cars with a minister in one of them across the German border, to confuse the Dutch police. So they knew exactly what they did was wrong. And the consulate called upon the Turkish community to protest as a diversion, which is exactly the exporting problems what we tried to avoid.
