How well can literature from a Romance language be translated to another Romance language (like Italian to French)?

Really damn well my dude. Romanian is a bit fucked compared to the others, though.

I can read Italian to some extent. I have some difficulty to read Spanish and Portuguese but if i make a few efforts i can read it, as for Occitan(which is just Spanish'd French) i can read it perfectly.

Very well, since you can easily find a similar word in the other language.

I'm simplifying
Obviously you didn't get Spanish'd, but Occitan has some tie to Spanish

Italian and Spanish are close to French, more than Romanian and Portuguese.
The langues d'oc (Oc languages) in the south of France are all very closely related to French and each others too
