Why can't we live up to the premise of "with liberty and justice for all" in the slightest?

I hate this country so much

You cant have both total liberty and total justice
We are meant to have a reasonable mix of the two
The problem arises when some people start wanting one at the expense of the other
>>
>>71677616
>maximum individual liberties
>has massive drug restrictions and age of consents (one of the highest in the world in fact)

This country is a joke
>>
>>71677616
>banning refugees
>deporting illegals

None of this conflicts with liberty and justice. It does not apply to foreigners outside the US and illegal immigrants who by definition violate federal laws.
>>
>>71677824
>massive drug restrictions
Agree, is shit
>age of consent
Not really an issue, especially with Romeo and Juliet laws.

Because the "Pledge" has nothing to do with the Constitution.
Reciting the pledge is IDOL WORSHIP.

Pretty simple really
>>
>>71677616
it is pretty funny that Americans believe their freedoms are better than most other countries
>can't drink till 21
>can't be outside after dark
>no easter holidays
>no gambling (except in special areas)
>no sex for money (except in special areas)
>no blanket paid annual or sick leave

but you can own guns without being a member of a shooting club

the majority of american cities have curfew laws so if you are under a certain age like 16 or 18 you can't legally be outside after dark
heaps free
>>
>>71678009
True, but as said before ITT those are only for minors and in most cases are really anti-gang laws.

>"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -CS Lewis

Believe me when I say, this has never stopped a teenager from getting ahold of alcohol.

Because a lot of people's idea of "justice" is destroying liberty.
>>
>>71680981
Besides, I don't think you want to be in a bar with 18 year olds.
>>
>>71677760
>You cant have both total liberty and total justice
You can have a great degree of both. Or do you not know what justice actually is?
>>
>>71680981
>>71681144
under 21 drinking has an entire SLEW of exceptions.

If you're at your house and your parents want to let you get DRUNK, it's fine.

Same with a friend's house. or church. Pretty much any private non-business property. A bar is only of the only places you can't be.

Keep in mind while blood alcohol limit for adults is generally like .08, if you register any blood alcohol under 21 it's not legal to drive.

>>71677616

>>
>>71681238
You can't buy alcohol period if you're under 21.
>>
>>71681299
he didn't say buy, he said drink.
>>
We need to imprison way fewer people and deregulate like crazy then and only then will we have liberty and justice.
>>
>>71681238
>If you're at your house and your parents want to let you get DRUNK, it's fine.
In most states giving alcohol to a minor is illegal, with the only exception being small amounts for church and stuff.
>>
>>71681387
no? literally the majority of states would be fine with your dad giving you a six pack at dinner.

26 states also have seperate laws for religions.

http://drinkingage.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=002591

only 10 states will let you get alcohol at a bar if your parents let you.
>>
>>71681387
This is not true.
