Quite a bit. Everyone read some manga or watched anime when they were kids, some continued in their teens, a few in adulthood. We're the country were the most manga is sold after Japan, and have the biggest Japanese culture convention in the world. We've been weebs since the 19th century.

Not sure what's the most popular. I should ask the guy who runs the bookshop specialised in comic/manga I go to. Very probably shonen, but whenever I go to his shop there are girls, so shojo must be pretty popular too.

Yeah, quite a bit, even non-weebs have heard of him. He did at least one manga about France, and collaborated with Moebius.

Shonen is turbonormie tier and 100% socially acceptable, albeit people would prob consider you a manchild if you're into it past your teens. Manga is ok as an adult if you're into comics in general.

Only really surface level shows and shounen anime like Bleach and Naruto for some reason. Will never understand the love for them despite how bad they are. American comics are more popular though but it's common for me to buy a lot of manga every month or so.

VN and light novels don't seem that popular though.
