Taking the bait here... I don't see how China could be considered a multicultural society AT ALL when everyone talks the same, looks the same, and believes the same thing. Only with very minor variation.

China is the kind of place where it is bad to be different. The nail that sticks out get's hammered down.

On the other hand, America is home to people from diverse cultural backgrounds, vastly different geographies, and it's a society where cultural differences are championed not suppressed by the society as a whole.

Plenty of foreigners move here, spend 15 years learning the language, marry a local girl thinking they will break through some cultural barrier and be accepted in China. Just to realize they have wasted their whole life because they will always been seen as a complete outsider. Even to their wife's family. There is no permanent residence for foreigners in China, no pathways to citizenship, basically no legal protection. No way for you to even open a business or own a house. Maybe if you put it all in your Chinese Wife's name you can "own" something in China.

So yeah if you go to China your going to be treated as a stranger lol.
