Why do European languages have different words for each months? Why not just call it month 1, month 2, etc? It took me years to get used to it

What to do they use for months in Korean?
>>
>>71522632
Maybe they only have fiscal quarters
>>
>>71522302
No, some languages have kept their native month names like "leaf fall" or "dry month".
>>
>>71522120
Why would you make columns with 5 rows and leave 2 months out (I assume theres a column with 2 rows somewhere) instead of just making columns with 6 rows... This hurts too much

Just another one of those historical memes which stuck and changed slightly over time.
Much prefer the Korean number+월, Japanese number+月 and the Mandarin number+月 system, mainly because I don't really keep track of things like months so when I casually hear something like "x of May" or "x of September" I don't immediately think of which number month it is.

Did you really think that was a clever little quip or what?
