I think some people just want to help them. They don't have enough knowledge on Muslim culture just like Muslims don't teach Roman Law and women studies at their schools.

It's simple.

In WW1 and WW2 European countries didn't take each others refugees. So lots of people died.

So after WW2 we promised to take in refugees. And cemented it in some nice human rights treaties.

Now it turns out applying those human right treaties to the whole world isn't that bright idea. The American constitution only really applies to Americans, but European treaties apply to everyone.

So, which politician will abandon those human right treaties? Not a progressive or socialist one. It would be political suicide for them to abandon human rights. It would take an ""extremist"" to abandon human rights. But Europe isn't ruled by extremists.
