Nothing in general happens in Spain. It's such an irrelevant country.

The greatest mysteries ever is how they were once briefly a major colonial power and a force to be reckoned with in Europe not long after the Moors who had taken control of the entire Iberian peninsula were finally expelled, and then suddenly everyone could just fuck their shit up like it was nothing.

Germany got rocked after WW1, and still managed to start another world war just a few decades later.

Germany, France, and Britain all are still pretty relevant today. Italy was at least semi relevant both world wars. Spain is the only decently sized country in Western Europe that just seemingly lost all relevance suddenly.
