That's actually false, Serbia started the first one when one of their own killed the Archduke of Austria. Serbia's ally Russia, then sweeps in and tries to protect it against Austria.

Germany, seeing this, propels itself into action against Russia as well but 2 days later they had the tenacity to also go against France, so France enters this war, which also triggers a nervous Britain to come in on the side of France as well.

So yes, Germany basically created the Western Front, escalating the overall chaos of the Great War in Western Yurop, but they did not start the Great War.

I will say that if Germany wasn't in the picture it would've just been a Serbia-Austria-Russia war.
