When I studied abroad in Japan, clothes with the american flag on it were pretty popular, also iPhones were extremely popular, probably Japanese per capita have more iPhones than in the US.

Also for some reason T-shirts in Japan with the most random English phrases that make no sense were pretty common. Some dude on the college campus I was on was wearing a shirt that said "Motherfucker" on it (I forget the exact word I just remember it being a curse word) and nobody paid him any attention.
