>African and Caribbean countries have colonial language(s) as official language(s) even when they have their own language/creole
>But most Asian former-colonies don't
Is there a reason behind this? I'm Viet and literally never hear anyone speaks French.

You weren't a colony for that long though. Caribbean countries were a colony for at least 200 years, not to mention that their population was annihilated and replaced with black slaves

this too. was why Indians accepted English language as their Lingua Franca.
While they may have languages like French or Portuguese as their official language not a great deal of people actually speak these languages in some countries (Though some have many), they speak their own languages over European ones typically.
