The ingenuity and creativity to survive such climates also developed, and eventually helped develop the race that basically created the modern society we live in and also invented pretty much everything we all use every day. Africa isn't "Third World" because of geography. They're the continent where humanity began, and therefore should be most modern, yet are the most backward. We're all products of our histories and genetics. Keep that in mind.

Well, that's kind of ironic, coming from you, when true European civilizations developed in Italy and Greece not in the Nordic areas.
And Europe is easy mode compared to Africa. No large predators, constant and abundant access to water, metals and other resources. Thanks to our connection to Asia and the Middle East we also had access to their knowledge and achievements - namely tamed animals (horses, dogs, cows etc) crops, writing, mathematics.
