How does an American get an apartment in Russia that isn't in Moscow?
I hate tourist trap big cities like that. I'm thinking more Izhevsk, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk.

If you want to rent one just look for some local websites. Google something like "city-name cнять квapтиpy". If you want to buy one then i'm not sure.

Too boring in my opinion, try Kazan, Novosibirsk or something like that.

Petropavlovsk is a 4 hour flight from me in the summer, I want to visit the Russia I can see from my house for the summer. Similar reasons for Vladivostok.

I am from Vladivostok and I can help you (if you are not CIA spy)
just go there, find someone that'll rent out a tool shed or barn for you.
They'll give you work so you can feed yourself and you'll be the highlight of the village as locals come far and wide to see a russian farmer oligarch and his american peasant slave.

An entire city can't be a tourist trap you dumb fuck.

What about working as double agent CIA?
I think Iran or Syria would be more interesting to a CIA spy in this day and age, but a white guy will stand out more there.
