China is building a New Silk Road to bypass a possible agressive US South China sea trade route blockade

The first official train arrived in London from the heartland of China a couple of days ago, It's journey lasted 18 days.

Sorry Poland destroyed it

Italy and Spain BTFO. Wait it means France will take care for them actually.
>>

You guys have always sucked China's dick.
You only really turned to us when big scary Russia did something...
>>
>>70887723
Because America is getting cucked by China?
>>
>>70887820
Pretty much this. Europe doesn't care for us at all except for when they need us.

nvm, read the text
>It will include at least one line running at 320 km/hour and will shorten land-transport time between London and Beijing from 15 to only two days - if Europe is willing to connect, that is.
>>
>>70887904
It will probably still be us. I don't think we will fully go isolationist, but we are quickly running out of all of our fucks.

Never gonna happen, that would mean another world war and america would be wiped out
>>
>>70887987
This tbqh. I'm pretty tired of people constantly blaming us for all the problems going on. Wouldn't it be great to shut them up by letting the world order fall into anarchy?
>>
>>70888059
I don't want the world to burn, but by god I want people to learn a lesson.
Our presence keeps more aggressive nations at bay for our allies, and while we may act like selfish bastards a good deal of the time, I know deep down that we are the best option for this position.
China only cares about China. The west cannot truly be friends with a nation who's government talks about the west as a boogyman.

this is delusional and ive frequently seen these posts from you americans

the world woldnt go either anarchy or chaos but another order would only rise.
>>

>another order
Chinese world order would only be orderly for China
>>
>>70888279
If we abandon the morals that we stand for then we become no better than China. Europe may hate it, but at the moment we are the beacon of western civilization, and while China might be good for the world economy, they would not hesitate to shut down the values we hold dear, while the people of the US will at least protest their government when they even think about stomping on them.

>>
>>70888372
The world doesn't want American values. Ask any Frenchman or German or Brit if they would rather have our values or not.
>>
>>70888465
I'm talking about the values of liberty, freedom, and democracy.
These are values that bind all of us to our allies.
>>
>>70886677

Correct me if im wrong. But i was under the impression its impossible for one train to make that journey continuosly due to different rail standards
>>
>>70888521
Liberty, freedom, and democracy are on the retreat all over the world. Authoritarianism is surging forward, even here. I'm starting to think it's a lost cause to try and bring about a democratic world order.
>>
>>70888604
It's always darkest before dawn. What we have seen recently is merely a bringing of light to what has always happened. The raise of technology, and an elite which refuses to adapt to it has resulted in the power shift we see today, but it's just a different face on the same beast. In the next 10 years we will see something big happen if the elite continue to fail to adapt as fast as the rest of us.
>>
>>70888712
>In the next 10 years we will see something big happen if the elite continue to fail to adapt as fast as the rest of us.
This is what I'm afraid of. There's no guarantee that it will be a good thing. Think Weimar Germany or Imperial Russia.
>>
>>70888594
You're right, the current """""direct trains""""" China-Germany are containers that get reloaded twice to change to and from broad gauge in Russia.
>>
>>70887858
No, we like your girls and music. And we are happy you took New York from the British.
>>
>>70888784
People may shit on diversity, but it's one of the things the US has that I believe prevents totalitarian rule. You will always have some vocal group starting shit, and all it takes is that group to gain support through mediums such as social media.
It's why people fight so hard for net neutrality, and free speech. If you take that away then you pave the way for the destruction of our core values.

>>70888936
You're not wrong, but it's not the same all over the world.
>>
>>70888371
geopolitically yes but economically, not really if you take a worse policy than china. its just about interests, like, which one is worse in trading.

and if you pull out of your military as world police, then the world will turn out to be chaos for sure but at the same time you will lose many economic opportunities because in such a situation its obvious you just act like russia in any negotiation.
>>
>>70889091
You're right, but I believe many of our allies have a similar situation. Diversity doesn't have to be about some ethnic background or some shit. It's diversity of ideas. Democracy, and free speech create it, and it maintains democracy and free speech.

China isn't capable of being a global superpower anyway; it's just not in their culture/genetics. They prefer to insulate themselves from the world, which they see as nothing but irrelevant barbarians.

If that was true, then how did Hitler get Germany out of the Depression and restore it to greatness in under 5 years? The Weimar Republic was a total clusterfuck that didn't lead the country to any stable prosperity.

If you call getting millions of Germans killed, the country reduced to ruins, and all the women raped by drunk Russians greatness.
>The Weimar Republic was a total clusterfuck that didn't lead the country to any stable prosperity
The Weimar Republic failed because German political culture had an authoritarian undercurrent that wasn't fully broken until after WWII.
>>
>>70892479
Yeah all the dumb people who think China is the superpower of the 21st century totally fail to account for the fact that no authoritarian system of government has ever led to a humane, livable society. Or one that's stable, well-educated, and prosperous.
>>
>>70892655
I don't think there will be a problem building a railroad through Russia :^)
>>
>>70892780
>Yeah all the dumb people who think China is the superpower of the 21st century totally fail to account for the fact that no authoritarian system of government has ever led to a humane, livable society
The US experienced its greatest economic growth in the 1800s when we were authoritarian as fuck and everyone but straight white Christian males had almost no rights at all.
>>
>>70892865
Actually the Federal government was incredibly tiny back then. If anything, it wasn't yet capable of enforcing civil rights as outlined in the Constitution.
>>
>>70892865
>1800s
>authoritarian as fuck
>>
>Dictatorships can never be purely personal and a dictator cannot rule alone. They exist because a specific segment of society supports them. That is to say, a group dictatorship. In most human societies, there are four main classes--the military, the clergy, the rich, and the poor. Examples of military-based dictatorships are all the old empires, Genghis Khan, Alexander, Rome, the Ottomans, Hitler, Imperial Japan, etc
>>
>>70893106
Correct. Take for example Iran. About 25% of the population, including certain tribal groups, are diehard supporters of the Islamic Republic.
>>
>>70892986

>>
>>70893224
I meant that the Constitution had assorted provisions to safeguard civil rights, but the means of enforcing them didn't really exist until the 20th century. For example, the First Amendment forbids a religion test as a requirement to hold public office, but many states still did it well into the 19th century. New Hampshire (to cite one example) did not allow anyone but practicing Protestants to hold elected office until the 1870s.
>>
