Why the fuck do Asians put a tilde (~) at the end of their sentences?

What does it signify?

Why can't they just say "Hello" instead of "Hello~"? It can't be a cultural thing since tildes haven't existed until the modern age.
>>
If a woman keeps using tildes when talking to you, she probably wants the D.
>>
They think it's kawaii.
>>
It's a cho'on (ー), it extends the vowel.

So hello becomes hellooo.

They use the tilde instead probably because it looks cute.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Well, we're not barbaric. It's to differentiate serious and playful tone of the text. It looks like a wave of lurf. More dots means unsure.
Hello (serious)
Hello~ I am lonely now~~~~ How~~??
...Hello?
,,,,Hello,,,, (some friends used this one)
>>
What is the original use of the tilde?
>>
>>70859249
in spanish as a diacritical mark, and in latin to show abbreviation, like the contemporary apostrophe
>>
>>70858325
I highly doubt that is only an Asian thing.
>>
>>70860181
It's only used by Asians and weebs
>>
>>70860181
It is.
>>
Because asian languages can't elongate a word thus indicating a drawn out vocalization by adding extra letters.

The real question is why do they do the peace sign? Where did the culture originate?
