In theory you should be able to efficiently learn through visual novels as long as you're able to extract text and look up the words. If you can keep up with anki though, you'll be able to learn words and their pronunciation like it's nothing.

Whichever you think you'll stick to the most will be the most helpful. I've known people who learned solely through visual novels but God knows how long that took them.

Yeah, you should preferably do both. Anki is just so efficient with learning new words it's almost a waste not to use it. Visual novels are probably the best way to get some hands-on experience(no pun intended), you have context/voices/conversations and a transcript.

この前の日経では、エンゲル係数の上昇は美食志向が強まったから、と書いてあったが、
実態は食費すら削ってるのにエンゲル係数上がったってだけだからすんごい危険。
もう他の物を買う余裕すら日本人は急速に失いかけてる。この失われたアベノミクスのおかげでね。

I was curious about Kaigen, but no search result come up but some animestuff and other unrelated things. How is "Kaigen" written as japanese sign?

Or does someone of you know a person who has participated in a Kaigen be it as a watcher or practioner? Im currently reading a lot about household deities in many cultures and the specific process of the invitation of a Kami/Part of a Kami into an inanimate object is part of that interest.
