How difficult would it be to survive in the wilderness in your country?
nto that much, you only would have to be ready for the mosquitoes
We still have tribes that refuse to leave the jungle so it can't be that bad.
really depends
north: die without finding any water
center: could be comfy to survive, not too much forest tho
south: die flooded by rain
austral: die because cold and attacked by pumas

Fuck that shit
Pretty easy, our population density is extremely high. You'd just have to walk a kilometer in one direction to reach the next city.

a joke.
you'd probably be arrested the same day by cops for hindrance
You can pretty much live forever if you are in the beach, coconut tree everywhere, seafoods and shit
coconut tree is called tree of life for a reason.
forest will kill you here
>>70481716
give credit to your commie friends then for surviving.
>>70481584
In the summer it would be really nice. The forests are full of wildlife, and the numerous lakes and rivers are filled with fish. I did it for five days once with a couple of friends. One of my best vacations ever.
The winter would be pretty harsh though. Sub-zero temperatures from November to March, with snow covering the ground, and ice covering the lakes.
>>70481656
still, they lived their whole life there, they know how to handle. City folks like you and me would be screwed in the first day.
Depends where are you going.
Up north it's all Jungle and Savannas so you might die if you don't do this properly.
Down south it's all atlantic forest so it might be easier.
What's the wilderness?
>Central Australia.
>Wander around the desert aimlessly until I die of thirst.
Pretty tough.
>>70481584
We have plenty of resources, that will not be a problem.
But then we have tropical rains with lightnings, high temperatures, venomous plants and animals, and many other problems.

Depends on where desu, and the circumstances. If we're talking about a scenario where you grab a gun and some camping stuff and a book on survival and take off for the woods then you could probably do pretty well for yourself (provided you ignored poaching, trespassing, etc. laws) but if we're talking a "teleported to the stone age" situation then it'd be anywhere from "you're dead inside a day" to "doable with the right knowledge".
>>70481891

There still are some hermits in Lapland that shun society and refuse to come out of their shacks/tents to the civilized world. For some reason most of them are from the coastal city of Kotka.Timo Laurila was the last really famous one, once a month he would go to nearest village to buy some groceries, but otherwise he shunned society, his face was paralyzed and drooped to the other side,so he could not smile or display his feelings,he lived 25 years in a small wooden shack in Vaskojoki, near Inari
Idaho
Finding food would be easy as hell, most of the animals are docile (We imported Canadian wolfs and they started to kick the asses of the deer and bears here because they are massive pussies.) and most of the plants are edible. Winters would suck though and seasonal fires would fuck me up.

>>70481584
I have a question, if that guy's stranded in Canadian wilderness and there's literally mountains everywhere, why did he have to use all of his energy to make a thatched stick shed when he could've easily found a cave instead?
It's literally unwise to use your energy just to make shelter like that when you could preserve it for something else and sleep in a convenient cave.
>>70481584
with no training and away from civilization?

>>70481584
In North Algeria it's easy thanks to the eternal French and Romans, if it was like 200BCE or something it would be extremely dangerous to be in Algeria.
In the south it's pretty hard to find water and food, if you team up with some Touareg clan then it will be easy.
>>70481708
>>center: could be comfy to survive, not too much forest tho
More like get burned to death in your sleep
very hard and i wount recommend it was we have not enough food resources to make living in the wilderness a thing.
But if your into farming and shit then i guess that would make it easier.
>>70481584
It would be easy mode in Victoria. It has somewhat moderate weather, although the summer can be hot as so probably need to find shade.
Plenty of forest and rivers, animals in the bush, if not there then go to the coast for seafood
I think Britain would be relatively easy for even the moat inexperienced survivalist, even in the Highlands.
If you can tolerate rain and mild temperature then that's all you really have to worry about.
You would probably freeze to death rn, late April through late September wouldn't be hard if you found shelter from the storms

I've cycled from rome to wien and didn't see any wilderness anywhere in between. Are you sure you understood the point of this thread?
>>70481584
Not much real wilderness here. Depends on your hunting, fire-making and hut-making skills. There would be no threats to your life from animals or so. But you could starve oder freeze to death in winter.
>>70489571
That guy is actually Australian, and this location is in the tropical area of northern Australia.
>>70494111
One more comfy winter pic for you to imagine how to survive.
there are some edible berries and mushrooms in the summer, apart from that I don't see anything to eat, there are some wild plum and pear trees but that's only close to habitable zones
Not too hard in summer. Anyone with some outdoors experience and common sense should be able to survive for a while.
Very hard in winter. The unprepared might die during the first night, and it takes some highly specialized knowledge and skills to be able to find food, which your body will be burning through rapidly to keep itself warm.
Every season but winter: very easy
You can eat practically everything and there are zero dangerous animals
Winter: preparations needed
>>70481584
Winter would suck, but pretty easy as long as the harvest is good.
>>70494711
there are still plenty of wild hogs, some rabbits, pheasants and deers in my neighbourhood. With supplies of vegetables and such things made during summer you would survive even coldest winters.
>>70493820

Even if you can find food say hello to malaria and the various tropical disease.
As for food go pick wild bananas, the tapioca that the army plants everywhere they go or hack some 4-5m python with your machete.
>>70495638
This pic is scary as hell
Pretty hard. You might accidentally leave the wilderness if you walk a few minutes.
>>70495398
Wrong.
>>70495670
Python going near humans are really rare unless you have some tasty chickens for them. Or your pet cat.
In the deepest part of Borneo where the Indonesian govt barely monitors there are markets that turn these giant snakes into meatballs and assorted exotic animals and besides everyone loves posing with pythons even foreign construction workers.
What's scary is the likes of leopards going into schools in India.
>>70481584
Pretty easy if you stay away from most of the deserts, not all of them are that hard to survive in though as most have some water sources and lots of plants & animals. Your webm depicts a rain forest in Far North Queensland, Australia. I guess rain forests would be some of the easiest places and a good portion of the country is abundant grassland.
>>70483043
does Japan and those other small Asian countries even have true wilderness?
>>70493820
You have a point.
There are some uninhabited areas here but they are typically without much vegetation like mountain peaks.
Aside from that there is people everywhere.
>>70496582

>>70481656

>>70481584
It would be really difficult. A guy who is a professional hunter and outdoorsman tried to live outdoors for 1 year but he got caught cheating.
The problem is finding enough food (getting ~2000 calories worth of food every single day is easier said than done), and you need to eat more than just fish and meat or else you won't get enough nutrients, and you will likely become ill. Finding wild edibles in the winter is hard or impossible in some areas.
>>70482055
We invented the water bottle.
Not that hard. Our weather isn't very extreme, and no animal exists in the wild that can kill us.
Winter would be pretty shitty in the north, though.

There is some variance depending on which part of Canada you pick, but just look at the living habits of the Aboriginals before they were completely fucked by colonialism and the survivors switched to modern western lifestyles.
Integrate their habits, or the habits of other cultures with similar environments (Scandinavian, for example) with some portable and easy-to-maintain modern tech and you have yourself at least a livable existence. It would still suck to be nomadic.

With global warming, we're barely getting snow anymore. When I was growing up (I'm old, children) it snowed every year and it stayed for a few days atleast. I mean really snowed.
Now it dusts a few times each winter and it rarely stays. Getting a few feet of snow is almost unheard of. And it melts right away.
>>70481891

So that in case we are up against something that can steamroll us conventionally and there is need to scatter the military for gorilla warfare there would be something to eat while waiting for the Bongs/Straya/Kiwi to arrive (if they bother at all).
Not everyone can afford MRE all day every day and the tapioca thing dates back to WW2 resistance against Japan where everyone lives off boiled tapioca and tree bark since IJA took all the rice. You don't even need to take care of them which is a plus and even commie rebels fed their thousands strong forces that way during Emergency era.
They also set up supplies in random jungle or islands that anyone or someone who got lost can take for free, an island nearby has stockpile of rice, cooking oil and seasoning for passing fishermen who feels like cooking on their boats.
