Trudeau is a neoliberal pragmatist. What makes him dangerous is the same reason Obama was dangerous: he can do a lot worse and still have a lot of support from Canadians (whereas if Harper did the exact same thing, he would have people calling for his head).

Yeah for sure, I wasn't trying to suggest that he's some kind of terrible person, but he has definitely worked hard to create a sugar-coated image of himself for the general public. Most politicians do that to some extent, but when it comes to JT the Canadian media seems to take it at face value. One thing I can say about Stephen Harper is that the man never pretended to be something he wasn't, he never tried to be the guy you would want to have a beer with, he was a cold-hearted, right-wing managerial type who got shit done and didn't care if you personally liked him.
