Paella is just rice with stuff. You can put a lot of things into it, even some XIXth century paella had chorizo, and others ingredients that are not popular anymore.

I know how will this sound like a joke but I know about potato bread. But I swear I didn't know it was Irish for years. My grandma had a recipe for it in one of her old cookbooks so I always assumed it's some obscure polish recipe since we are also big on potatos.

You should see what they pass as paella in the tourist-traps restaurants in Barcelona's las ramblas' streets.
>>70440410
This chorizo and stuff paella has been cooked in Valencia.
It's a stupid thing to deify paella while it's just the valencian name of saucepan. What's in is just arroz with what you could put in it.
Traditional paellas didn't had stupid rules and this is why they were so delicious. Making paella an """artistic""" dish is some urban modern retarded pride.
Btw valencians are nothing but southern catalans, don't ask them anything.

Chorizo is good 4 cooking but not 4 paella, here is used 4 chickpeas beans and lentils, among other things, u can or can not put pork, some people do and I'm ok with this, is fun when they made 4 all the people and put pork to avoid muslims, and yes paella is the name of the pan not the name of the rice

Sorry anons, but Antoine Parmentier was french.
>>70436485
>>70438892
Except this is wrong. It's pathetic when Belgium (I'm sorry, """""Flanders""""") is such a non-nation when they have to base their entire national cuisine on a myth made up by one Flemish nationalist journalist with zero sources calling back to a time when the potato wasn't even fucking introduced in Belgium.
The French timeline on the other hand makes more sense: a few years after Parmentier introduced the potato to France. Parmentier wanted to create mass appeal by advertising potatoes to the wealthy and ended up creating and inspiring such dishes as Hachis Parmentier. French fries (or frite pont-neuf) belonging in there is far more plausible than a bunch of poor Belgian (sorry, "flemish") peasants who could barely afford oil and have never seen potatoes somehow getting enough potatoes and enough oil to make fries.
>>70434528
To get back on topic, British cuisine in general is shit but in terms of desserts they're pretty great. Between muffins, cheesecake and scones there's quite a lot of enjoyable sweets there.
