What do I'm pretty sure one of my great great Norwegian grandparents fucked an Irishman and didn't say anything or the husband ran off (it's really common to not grow up with dads in my family)

How Irish are those people those? I mean I don't know my own ancestry that well, but my family names suggest southern Scotland. But between there and America, a lot of us stopped off in Ireland in between. We have been called "the Irish" at times in this country. But how accurate is that?

Aside from Regan and Obama most of the president's with "Irish" ancestry are more often then not Scotch-Irish, protestant low-land Scot immigrants to Ulster who then immigrated in massive numbers to the colonies and early United States. It wouldn't be till the Potato Famine that catholic Irish immigrants would outnumber Ulster Scots over here.
