>>
>>70292591
Probably because it wasn't a democratic election because america is not a democracy, but a republic. The system is that way so that two states don't decide the fate of the country for the rest of them because of population numbers.
>>
>>70292471
>Winning popular opinion implies someone/something being undoubtedly popular, not having a 1% advantage where it doesn't matter
We're not talking about who has popular support, clearly nobody does, we're talking about who doesn't have popular support. Trump's approval rating is between 30 and 42 percent depending on which poll you believe. Even Fox's poll puts him at the lowest approval rating of any incoming president since they started taking polls.

>And the way liberals chimpout right now before Trump has done anything really hurts their chance to change the minds of people that voted for Trump.
Trump HAS done things already though. Unconstitutional things even.

>It's litteraly an attak on their right to vote differently in the name of democratic values
The vast majority of the protesters weren't violent. There were 230 arrests and millions of protesters. It's part of our constitution that people are allowed to protest the government, that IS democracy.
>>
>>70292591
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Representative_democracy
>>
>>70292554
If 42% of women did vote for him, 56-58% or so didn't. Still a huge margin of difference for an election.
>>
Which way is Trumps presidency going to go? Do you think these riots, looting, and mass vandalism will continue for his entire term? The whole country seems to have gone mad. Nobody likes it when their horse doesn't win, but it's not grounds for this shit. If the civil unrest continues until he is gone, it will set a precedent, that's effectively the death of democracy, caving to violent liberals and their unrealistic ideals. I'm interested to see how it all pans out
>>
>>70292646
>Probably because it wasn't a democratic election because america is not a democracy, but a republic
America is a liberal democracy with a two party system.
>The system is that way so that two states don't decide the fate of the country for the rest of them because of population numbers.
Yet that's exactly what happens with the electoral colleges.

>>70292666
Yes, and in a two party system the fact that the elected outcome isn't actually representative of the majority means it is a failed system.
>>
Are Americans somehow conditioned to feel disgust towards anything which doesn't fit their worldview? Both sides of the election are just so hostile towards each other while here it's mostly just a bit of banter.
>>
>>70292549
>Not me and not any of the other women in my family.
Wow, I have a conservative family too. Big deal. That doesn't mean the majority of women voted for Trump, they didn't.

>And what's your point?
You tried to downplay the amount of people who opposed Trump with your comment about California.

>I can just as easily reply that white people and mature people in all states did support him.
They aren't the majority, why do you assume 60 year olds are more mature than 30 year olds?

>Or are you making the argument that only the young and dumb and the hordes of brown be allowed to vote?
No, I never implied that. How old are you btw? Why do you hate young people? And what's wrong with the "brown hordes"?
>>
>>70292763
>Yes, and in a two party system the fact that the elected outcome isn't actually representative of the majority means it is a failed system.

Then the 3 largest states would pretty much dictate every single election campaign. Which means the candidates wouldn't even bother campaigning to the other states.

How would that make sense to you? This isn't a new system in the US, and both candidates knew this going in, which is why their campaigns were setup the way they were.
>>
>>70292745
While this was unheard of in the past few elections, I don't think these will continue for too long or be expressive in any way. The biggest feud in his term will be vs the mainstream media.

America will change, but not through this nonsensical violence.
>>
>>70292815
Except all the swing states are very populous too. You don't see candidates spending much time in Wyoming and Rhode Island.

Why should the opinion of someone be worth less based on where they live? Can you justify it without falling back on just not liking how urban people vote?
>>
>>70292860
>Why should the opinion of someone be worth less based on where they live? Can you justify it without falling back on just not liking how urban people vote?

I just told you. Because there's more parts to a country than California and New York.
>>
>>70292860
And in this case someone's vote is worth less, in your preferred way someone's vote means absolutely nothing because they can never affect any election.

Isn't that FAR worse in your opinion?
>>
>>70292745
They'll get their gibs, one way or another. :^)
>>
>>70292890
If California was a swing state, it would be the only state candidates cared about. Your point makes no sense. I still don't understand your reasoning.

>>70292928
>in your preferred way someone's vote means absolutely nothing because they can never affect any election.
But that's not true. My vote means nothing under the current system because I'm a Democrat in a red state. Republicans in California can't influence anything under the current system either. That isn't the case based on the popular vote.
>>
>>70292779
>You tried to downplay the amount of people who opposed Trump with your comment about California.
Because when you remove that one state Clinton loses the popular vote, bigly. Your majority argument completely falls apart and it only propped up by a state where coincidentally illegals are allowed to vote. What are coincidence.
>And what's wrong with the "brown hordes"?
Aside from many of them being illegals? Probably the culture of parasitism where their voting decisions are not made on what's best for the country as a whole but made based on who will take as much from white people and direct it into their pockets as possible.
>>

Illegals are not allowed to vote in California. Your electoral college argument compeletely falls apart and it is only propped up untruths to support it. What a coincidence. http://www.snopes.com/california-motor-voter-act/

>Aside from many of them being illegals?
Illegals can't vote.

>Probably the culture of parasitism where their voting decisions are not made on what's best for the country as a whole but made based on who will take as much from white people and direct it into their pockets as possible.
Flip whites and non whites and that's exactly how people feel about Republicans. You aren't exactly helping dispel the notion that Trump supporters are racist...
>>
>>70292659
>depending on which poll you believe
Why would I believe polls? The onse that are published support the view point of the publisher. According to them Hillary is president, Brexit never happened and Netanyahu lost the elections like 4 times already
>Trump HAS done things already though. Unconstitutional things even
He didn't do anything while in office. You are referring to claims of what he supposedly did that were part of the pre-election propoganda. Those claims were considered by the public and rejected as unreliable or unimportant by the vote.
>It's part of our constitution that people are allowed to protest the government, that IS democracy.
I didn't say they were not allowed. I said that they are counterproductive and undemocratic in spirit because the protest is against the results of free and fair elections. I mean, what is the aim of the protest? To make someone cancel the elections because you lost? It's just an attempt to demilitarize the president because you don't agree with him and it will backfire hugely. It will either make him even more popular by putting his voters on the defensive or make your sides's president illegitimate in a similar way if he wins next time.
The fact that someone you don't like won the election is not dangerous to democracy. Not accepting the results and deligitimising the voters of the winning side is.

>I didn't say they were not allowed. I said that they are counterproductive and undemocratic in spirit because the protest is against the results of free and fair elections. I mean, what is the aim of the protest? To make someone cancel the elections because you lost?
No, the point isn't to get him impeached or anything. It's to give the government incentive to become popular by compromising on their agenda. If they want the protests to stop, they need to compromise with the public.

>Not accepting the results and deligitimising the voters of the winning side is.
But we did accept the results. That's why we're protesting them.
>>
>>70293192
Show me a single instance of an illegal voting. You have to prove your citizenship when being registered to vote, and when you vote, you can't vote twice. If millions of illegals voted, then millions of legals wouldn't be able to vote. So show me the evidence.

They caught voter fraud in California. Clearly an investigation had to be done in California for them to find that one single instance of it in California.

>Democrats have been voting with dead people and illegals for over 100 years and are the only ones who in this election who got doing exactly that. But yeah I guess I'll just believe you instead of a pattern of behavior that has been well known and well documented for over a century.
Show me the proof.

No, Fox news supports the Republican establishment that wants Trump to fail. As an American you knew that already but choose to disregard it to make your argument stronger.
>>70293215
>emoluments
That's just an opinion not a fact. It's a deeply obscure legal matter and I'm sure that you didn't even know about emoluments until it was said to you that this has some small chance to get Trump impeached. Which I'm sure it can't because he is smart enough to have good lawyers that will not let him make a concision decision to fuck up his greatest achievement and simultaneously ruin their firms reputation. In any case, if you are right there is no need to protest. He can be legally impeached and you should be happy that he did that.
>It's to give the government incentive to become popular by compromising on their agenda. If they want the protests to stop, they need to compromise with the public.
So you are protesting in the hopes of making a politician go back on his election promises? Than we both agree that the protests are against the other side's voters, trying to make their vote to mean nothing.
>But we did accept the results. That's why we're protesting them.
That's one retarded word play. How did you accept the results if you are protesting against them? It's like saying that you are against rape, that's why you're fucking her by force

How often do you watch Fox? Because that's definitely not the case.

>That's just an opinion not a fact.
George W. Bush's chief ethics lawyer thinks it is unconstitutional.

>It's a deeply obscure legal matter and I'm sure that you didn't even know about emoluments until it was said to you that this has some small chance to get Trump impeached.
Nope. I was taught about it in high school government class.

>Which I'm sure it can't because he is smart enough to have good lawyers that will not let him make a concision decision to fuck up his greatest achievement and simultaneously ruin their firms reputation.
He was dumb enough to get in trouble over Trump University and have several businesses go bankrupt. Powerful people get greedy and it leads to their undoing all the time.

>So you are protesting in the hopes of making a politician go back on his election promises?
Sort of. Democracy is supposed to be about compromises. A minority government should try to appeal to the majority so that they can become a majority government.

>How did you accept the results if you are protesting against them?
Because I'm not protesting the results, I'm protesting the actions of Donald Trump.

Bullshit. Michigan doesn't use electronic votinf machines, they simply tabulate scantrons.

There is literally no possibly way for the machines to independently create votes for people who weren't there without voter fraud.

And coincidentally, as soon as this was learned of, Stein immediately withdrew her recount request. Yeah that's not suspicious at all.

I'm not going to get into he said she said with you. You know very well that Fox supported every republican candidate they could against Trump.
>George W. Bush's chief ethics lawyer thinks it is unconstitutional.
Again, a meaningless point. Bushes were treated really badly by Trump and this lawyer has no professional liability at stake when he claims that. As opposed actual Trump's lawyers.
>Nope. I was taught about it in high school government class.
Ok, I believe you, but I'm sure that you were not tough it at the level required to understand if what Trump did constitutes an emoluments or not as claimed by his lawyers / his detractors lawyers.
>He was dumb enough to get in trouble over Trump University and have several businesses go bankrupt. Powerful people get greedy and it leads to their undoing all the time.
He wasn't dumb enough because he didn't loose the case. Your just presenting it this way. Regardless, there is a difference between getting sued or even letting one of your groups company's to fail which is regular risk in business (like a carpenter risks getting his fingers smashed once in a while) and a top legal firm building a legal structure after winning the elections, knowing it will be scrutinized by the top legal minds employed by his adversities.
>Sort of. Democracy is supposed to be about compromises. A minority government should try to appeal to the majority so that they can become a majority government.
Trump was elected to execute the agenda he promised to execute. And he will do so operating under the checks and balances of your system. Your claim that he is somehow leads a minority government has no basis in law and in your system. Nor your claim that he should do anything different form what got him elected.
>Because I'm not protesting the results, I'm protesting the actions of Donald Trump.
You just argue for the sake of appearance and its boring.
>>

>You know very well that Fox supported every republican candidate they could against Trump.
Sean Hannity jumped on the Trump train pretty quickly. And the other anchors did as soon as the primaries were over.

>Ok, I believe you, but I'm sure that you were not tough it at the level required to understand if what Trump did constitutes an emoluments or not as claimed by his lawyers / his detractors lawyers.
His "detractors" belong to the same party as him.

>He wasn't dumb enough because he didn't loose the case.
He settled, which is an admission of guilt. Trumps ego is so big that if there was a slight chance he could have won, he would have fought the case.

>Trump was elected to execute the agenda he promised to execute.
By a minority of the population.

>And he will do so operating under the checks and balances of your system
One of those checks and balances is the court of public opinion.

>Your claim that he is somehow leads a minority government has no basis in law and in your system.
He legally lost the popular vote, he has the support of a minority of the population. That makes his government a minority government.

>You just argue for the sake of appearance and its boring.

No it isn't. In fact most settlements explicity state that such settlements do not constitute and admission of guilt.

Who knows? Presumably it wasn't worth the time, money, and effot to litigate.

And you have no idea either which is precisely why resprenting a settlement whicb explicity rejects any admission of guilt as an admission of guilt is a bold faced fucking lie.

Do you people ever get tired of lying? Do you ever get tired with losing elections and not being taken as serious or truthful in the slightest by the voters?

If you really did believe in the merits of your ridiculous platforms then surely those would speak for themselves without the need to constantly make shit up.

Trump literally bragged on the campaign trail about how much he wins in court. It would help bolster support if he won yet another case. There's no reason for him to give up $25 million when he doesn't have to.

>Do you people ever get tired of lying? Do you ever get tired with losing elections and not being taken as serious or truthful in the slightest by the voters?
But we are the majority of the voters. Perhaps we are the majority because most people could see that Trump is a scamp artist because of things like Trump University.

>If you really did believe in the merits of your ridiculous platforms then surely those would speak for themselves without the need to constantly make shit up.
Trump's team literally coined the term "alternative facts" to defend the proposition that Trump had a bigger inauguration turnout than Obama when he didn't.
