I am leaning towards the Nexus 6P and Moto X Style, horrendous battery lives but guaranteed longevity with custom ROMs. They also agree with my 'purchase flagships after 2 years of release' policy to save money. Also I need a secondary phone to complement my mangled Xperia Z3.

I'm pretty happy with my 6P. I haven't even bothered to root it or install a custom rom. My only complain is that after owning it for about a year, the OLED screen is kind of burnt in. When watching full screen videos, the bar where the back/home/multitasking buttons are is lighter than the rest of the screen.

This changes a lot, better prioritize the X Style and research its LCD panel, and inferior camera with the Nova Plus being a replacement backup for the 6P. V10 if I can find it for the Amazon price (275 USD) on holiday (bootloop issues are a problem) and finally the regular M9 cause I can throw stock Nougat anytime on it.
