Fans of the Hajduk football club use the Confederate flag because they're from the "South" (of Croatia) and are main rivals with a club up North from the capital. Some other Dalmatians (being from the South of Croatia) use it in sports or similar. I don't know if there's more backstory to it. It's some sort of a symbol of the North-South rivalry in Croatia.
