I think part of growing up is realizing that love is a choice, rather than an experience. I was infatuated with a girl in high school, but I don't think I'll ever feel the same way to another person.

Marriage and long term relationships are built on choosing to love one other. It's a process, and an action you have to take - an accumulation of shared experiences more than just a feeling that wears off.

However "falling in love" is something you go through when your young, hormonal and hopeful - obsessing over a girl because you have nothing else to worry about.
