You can but you need a permit. It's not common at all, I've never heard of anyone owning one so its not like you see people walking them on the street,

Not really. If you get them as pups they bond to you and all that but they're aggressive towards other animals and are destructive in general. And they won't accept a new owner if their first gives them up for whatever reason.
