I will have to sell it when I get a job in Oslo and move into the city, though. Planning on living close enough to work to walk there.

This is /int/, did you honestly expect a lot of Anons to be able to drive, let alone own a car?
>>69771945
Not OP, but I expect the Euros to be cramped bus riders and most of the New Worlders to be able to drive and own a car.
There can't be that many neets in /int/
Sandero RS.
Fun little car.
2012 Skoda Octavia
Do they even sell Skodas outside of central europe? Here everyone and their mother drives them, but I've never seen them anywhere else.

For a small hatch, yes.
200hp it's enough for a city like São Paulo. Also hit 180 on the highway and he can go further, pass 220 for sure.
Now i'm deciding if i tune the chip or buy something nicer, probably the first option.

1998 Kia Sephia (not my pic). Been serving me well for three years, I don't think I'd want anything else.

Sure? payed 500 EUR for it andit had 2 years TÜV (car inspection)
>>69785109
A bicycle would cost you 20 euros without any need for inspection and cost for fuel.
And you can easily dodge any normal size car that don't notice you and drive straight into you if you ride a bicycle.
Also, don't lie, I googled and cheapest one is 6000 euros in Germany.
>>69772020
Yeah they do, but they aren't common at all. I was about to buy a new Octavia but decided against because of the rarity of replacement parts.

>>69785109
Off topic, but what's the process for buying and registering a 2nd hand shitbox in Germany?
Do I really need to
1) Pay the seller & get the papers and keys
2) Buy insurance
3) Walk (!) to the registration and plates offices to get register it and buy plates
4) Walk (!) back to the seller, screw on plates and drive it out
or is there a simpler way to do it, without spending a day going back and forth between places?
Also I've seen some dealers' ads where cars don't have plates. How do you test drive it, do they have some permanent temporary plates they throw on the car for the test drive?
>>69785225
Na i need to get quick from A to B for work and I work on the countryside. Car is mandatory for my work.
I buyed it used ofc, only old people with good pensions buy car's directly from stock
>>69785375
Well, I can afford RR and I wont buy unused car. It's stupid if you consider you have to swap it in a few years.
And really, is it good? I heard it shakes after 80 kmph, tho I really doubt that.
>>69785333
Yes, the plates with the red numbers on it are for that purpose.
But I am afraid you can't ditch the rest. Your steps are pretty accurate and can only be modified by the seller, like, he allows you to drive the car with his red plate to the registration office and then changen them there (oh don't forget, you need to buy a plate there as well before you check out ~25 EUR)
And I recommend to get a online reservation when you go to the registration office, if you came by without you have to wait until EVERYONE with a date is done.
At leat with by small Honker I don't need to screw in the plate, you can click it in
>>69785454
I would bet we have to pay higher taxes in general so we have to put more money for the same car on the table. But thats's just a guess
Well, I can hardly complain. For a car build 2001 and for the fact that I am not the most carefull owner it never broke down and I only had to do smaller repairs for ~150 EUR or so
thinking of buying a car
what could I buy in your country for about 5000PLN- 1200$?
Here f.e. picrel
>>69785835
New or used?
>>69785730
>would bet we have to pay higher taxes in general so we have to put more money for the same car on the table.
Probably. Tho most dealerships here overprice the cars, so some cars here cost even more then in europe, but that's just new ones.
>>69785454
For a 500-1000 eur car the model doesn't really matter, it's about what condition the individual car is in. If you manage to choose one that doesn't require expensive repairs (or can do them yourself), it's practically a free car after a couple of years.
>>69785540
Ok, thanks.
What about buying insurance? I understood that I need to prove to the registration office that I have that.
Can I buy it online and have this proof immediately or do I need to get some physical paperwork for that too? Since the car doesn't have a registration plate, how does one specify the car to the insurance company? VIN number or something?
Can you at least book the time online and then go register the car on the same day, or do you actually have to book a time and plan the whole procedure some days ahead?
>>69785835
If it's going to be your first one, don't buy passat. Just don't.

>>69785880
The insurance company just need to know basic stuff, like trade, type, and PS and the rest can be submitted later. Our local car registration office can scan in QR codes from the insurance company from your phone but thats not default, when I registered mine I printed the letter from the insurance company and bring them along
If you choose some just online insurances like Cosmos Direct (cheapest one) then you get the proof within 5 minutes, based on ym experience
And the company rates the car based on interal charts - like how many people buyed that car and crashed. VW Golf is known for the highest costs because a lot of newbies buy it and caused trouble
And the booking times depends, usually the next day so you can plan the trip. my car seller prepared the car with the plate and parked it on the street so I can come by and take it when ever my appointment was, got very lucky with him. But it is possible to get a appointment the very day if someone couldn't made it

Rolls-Royce Phantom/Kerb weight
2,580 to 2,670 kg
considering the average Niponese car is <1,500kg I think its safe to say that a phantom is heavier than most all jap cars
>>69785911
why?
>>69785845
brand new ofc
>>69786199

Dude, phantom is probably one of lightest cars in it's category.
And that's not how highways work, believe me.
>>69786199
It's pain in the ass to contain that car. And you'll be crying a lot when you hit it (which you will) or get gearbox blown.
Get an old ass MB or 525 for a year or so and then switch to something better.
