To get a license you need to be 21, then you have to make them believe you actually need a weapon (self-defence is an acceptable reason). The next step is a test about your mental health or something. I think you also require some training (you have that here at the Bundeswehr/Military usually).

Other than that you need a safe for your weapons at home.

Around Graz you would probably live pretty fine. Graz has a lotta industry and you get to Burgenland, Vienna and Carinthia easily. Also, Graz I'd a pretty nice city with a good taste for beer. Once a year is "Nova Rock" in Burgenland . It used to better tho (seriously, check the Line Up. More and More Hip Hop artists and shovelware bands). I usually visit stuff like "Sauzipf" or "Rock den See in St. Andrä" because friends.
