The US would have significantly less power. It was able to assert its hegemonic dominance through the bretton woods system that enabled it to export insane amounts as it was able to keep its exchange rate stable and fixed.

In the current and foreseeable political climate, it's impossible. Secluding ourselves means falling FAR behind the rest of the world I'm every aspect, and when the rest of the world is globalized, we'd fall even further. It was only tolerated as well as it was back then because the rest of the major powers were also recovering from the war or had their own internal affairs to deal with, namely some key revolutions in the a non participants of ww1, and global consumerism was still in its millennia log infancy relative to today.

TLDR if we isolate ourselves, then we regress and chances of reclaiming our place are slim to none

If we did it we wouldn't regulate our trade that heavily. We would try and maintain our economic ties.
If we do that we might see a period of brief instability in the world, that might spill over into some wars, or might settle down after the tensions are settled.
Surely the map would change though, and our economy would likely shrink.
