Why are universities not (((free))) in Canada or Australia but healthcare is?
Staying healthy is more important than some meme degree
More tax money goes to healthcare than universities

It doesn't benefit society having free university degrees, but it does having free healthcare

This. I hope universities will cost money again so we don't have stupid people wasting tax money doing meme degrees.
Because the hippocratic oath exists and health is integral to living while tertiary education is not.
Also US public health expenditure as a percentage of gdp is higher than both Canada's and Australia's and you guys get two shitty programs in return: medicaid and medicare + a new program (obongocare) that effectively forces you to buy a private product.

High school is free. It doesn't have to be. Universities teach worthless degrees. Canada is the source of gender studies and other similar garbage. Anita Sarkeesian was educated here.

Having free universities is a real effective way to have every single poor ass Muhammed and his turban buddies gain access to your country for a few years.
If universities and degrees have to actually cost money, you wont be pulling in the subhuman scum from every other 3rd world shithole.

It should stay free but, harder to join
Also healthcare in australia isn't exactly free. 49% of australians have private health insurance as there are tax incentives for doing so. I would say for the average australian, health costs are more subsidised than entirely covered for a variety of reasons.

Why free? Why should people that don'5 benefit from degrees, and therefore on average earn less, pay for richer people to benefit from a degree
