Sure i won't argue against that one. But in most cases that would be just a protective action where the nation and it's identity feel threatened. Excluding germany of course. In our case USSR wanted to take our lands and we felt threatened so the people became extremely nationalistic and even the women volunteered for Utility jobs in the war.
