>would you like some coffee? = "fancy a cuppa?"
you will never EVER convince me british english is the proper form of the language
american english:
>crisp, clear pronounciation
>spoken language is closer to the written language
>improved and omptimized spelling. what's the point of the extra "u" in "color"? archaic garbage. why end words in -ise when the pronounced sound is clearly -ize?
british english:
>garbled, bloated pronounciation. a simple 'what' is pronouced as "woooooooh"
>spoken language is only tangentially related to the written language thanks to what i can only describe as hyperactive spit glands making sure the mouth is always full of spittle
>spelling badly in need of reform, using unneeded forms from the 18th century

why you gotta be like that bby
Nice proxy, Kevin
If anything when you're learning ESL standard British English sounds tidier and closer to written spelling. Of course if you're thinking cockney that's misleading
also why do brits sound like americans when they sing? anyone mind answering that for me?

I like the northern dialects of Britain but these two American dialects will always remain my favourite and I wish I could speak one of them.

I agree, american english is the global standard, only britbongs think their language still has relevance.
British english is either needlessly complicated or it's just harder to understand as a non-native speaker, compared to american english. Like if I go to london and listen to people speaking english on the street it's way fucking harder to understand anything they're saying compared to if I'm walking around in chicago or something.
